TYPE-B type bulk bag / anti-static bulk bag / low breakdown voltage, preventing the generation of static electricity for safe use: used for transporting dry, flammable powders; there are no flammable solvents or gases around the bulk bag; do not use: when flammable solvents or gases are present around the bulk bag.
Type B anti-static packaging bags are similar to Type A ones. They are also made of ordinary woven polypropylene fabric. However, the breakdown voltage of the woven fabric in Type B bags cannot exceed 4KV. This means that Type B packaging bags do not generate propagating brush discharges. This is an important classification. That is to say, few discharges that can occur on the packaging bags are low-energy brush discharges.
If propagating brush discharges can be excluded, and the extremely large energy of brush discharges is 4m, it is reasonable to believe that this type of packaging bags are safe for flammable gas environments with ignition energy not exceeding 4m!. Similarly, for flammable dust with ignition energy not exceeding 4nd, these packaging bags are also safe. However, Type B packaging bags cannot be used in flammable hydrocarbon vapor environments. It must be noted that some factory-made packaging bags meet the classification standards of Type B, but they still cause accidents.
For example, during the testing by the testing institution, they met the Type B standards. However, in actual use, due to the inner liner bag and the coating on the surface of the bag body, the breakdown voltage exceeds 4KV, thus making Type B bags actually become Type A type.
