The UV protection performance of ton bags is influenced by the material and manufacturing process, and varies.
Ton bags made of ordinary polypropylene have relatively weak UV protection ability. Under long-term exposure to UV rays, the polypropylene molecular chains will break, resulting in a decrease in bag strength, brittleness, yellowing of the color, shortened service life, and may only be suitable for short-term outdoor storage or indoor use.
However, ton bags that have undergone special UV protection treatment have significantly improved performance. The manufacturer will add UV-resistant masterbatch during the production process. The light stabilizers in the masterbatch can absorb or reflect UV rays, reducing the damage they cause to the bag material. These ton bags can be used outdoors for a long time, effectively resisting UV radiation, maintaining good physical properties and appearance, and prolonging the service life. They are suitable for outdoor storage, transportation, etc., but the cost is relatively high.
